original French is my interpretation and I apologize for any errors.

"Chapeau de Velours. Douillette de Satin."

Velvet hat. Satin coat.




Costume Parisien - Fashion Plate 1806 Costume Parisien  -  1806 (774)

"Capote de Velours, garnie en Satin, Redingote de Drap."

Velvet bonnet trimmed with satin, Redingote of wool cloth.




Costume Parisien - Fashion Plate 1811 Costume Parisien  -  1811 (1139)

"Bonnet de Tulle.  Fichu de Tulle.  Robe de Virginie."

Cap of tulle.  Fichu of tulle.  Dress of 'Virginie'.

"Chapeau de Castor.  Robe de Mérinos garnie de pluche [sic]."

Hat of Beaver fur.  Dress of merino wool trimmed with plush.

Bonnet and Redingote of percale.




Costume Parisien - Fashion Plate 1820 Costume Parisien  -  1820 (1937)

"Coiffure ornée d'un voile et de saxifrages.  Robe de satin à corsage bouillonné en tulle:  la garniture en feuilles de satin et bouffans [sic] de tulle.  Boucle de diamans [sic] à la ceinture."

Headdress ornamented with a veil and 'saxifrages' flowers.  Satin dress with bodice trimmed with small puffings of tulle; trimming of satin leaves and puffs of tulle.  Diamond buckle on the belt.

"Chapeau de gaze orné d'une plume moitié autruche moitié marabout.  Robe de gros d'été garnie de volans [sic] horizontaux  Fichu-pelerine de dentelle."

Gauze hat ornamented with a feather trim, half ostrich and half marabou.  Dress of 'gros d'été' trimmed with horizontal flounces.  Pelerine of lace.

"Chapeau de velours garni de rubans de satin.  Robe de gros de Naples ornée de rouleaux de satin."

Velvet hat trimmed with satin ribbons.  Dress of 'gros de Naples' trimmed with rolls of satin.

"Chapeau de gros de Naples orné de rubans de gaze.  Redingote de mousseline garnie de ruches de mousseline.  Brodequins de prunelle."

Hat of 'gros de Naples' trimmed with gauze ribbons.  Redingote of muslin trimmed with muslin ruffles.  Boots of prunella.

"Chapeau de paille de riz du magasin de Mme Beauvais, Rue Ste Anne, No 77.  Redingote de gros d'Orient.  Canezou à revers brodé et borde de dentelle du magasin de M Lavigne, Boulevart [sic] Poissonnière, No. 18"

Hat of rice straw from the store of Mme Beauvais, No. 77 Ste Anne Street.  Redingote of 'gros d'Orient'.  Embroidered guimp or chemisette and lace trimming from the store of M. Lavigne, No. 18 Poissonnière Boulevard.
